Protecting the Sorek Desalination Plant located near the shoreline at the Palmachim Beach.
Due to the concern that sea water may reach the construction and drilling site during wave storms, it was determined to protect it from the water level rise and the waves.
The technology selected for this activity is the utilization of Geotube® container filled with sand and their placement as dividers between the shoreline and the work site.
The Geotubes are made of woven Geotechnical fabrics sewn as a sleeve, designated to separate between the sand and the water.
The Geotubes are utilized in marine works as a separation between the sand accumulated within them and the water filtered out of them.
The Geotube designated for marine works excels in high abrasion resistance and high seams strength.
